RELAY SERVICE FOR VOICE CALLER
711 or 800-833-8134
Standard telephone users can easily initiate calls to TTY, VCO, HCO or STS users. The relay operator will type the hearing person's spoken words to the TTY/VCO/HCO/STS user and reads back the typed replies by voice to the hearing individual.
HOW TO CONTACT A PERSON WHO USES A TEXT TELEPHONE (TTY)
Dial 711 (or 1-800-833-8134).
You will hear a recording telling you to press "1" to make a relay call.
Give the relay operator the area code and telephone number you wish to call and any further instructions.
The relay operator will process your call. When the TTY caller answers the call, the relay operator will type what you say to the TTY caller.
Make sure to say "Go Ahead" when it's the TTY caller's turn to respond.
The TTY caller will read what was said on the device. The relay operator will then read aloud everything the TTY caller types to you.
